Types of NVA membership
Depending on the budget, a membership fee increase may be determined during the General Members' Meeting (ALV), which usually takes place in April. If you become a member before the ALV and a membership fee increase is approved, you will receive an additional invoice for your first membership year afterwards.
Student Membership (for acupuncture students)
As long as you are enrolled as a student to obtain your diploma in acupuncture and/or Medical Basic Knowledge (MBK) at an NVA accredited acupuncture program, you may take advantage of the student membership. Once you have obtained both diplomas, you will no longer be a student and must transition to Practicing Membership.
Student Membership fee 2026: € 90,- (annually)
Practicing Membership
For acupuncturists who meet the admission criteria for practicing membership and who, in accordance with the NVA professional profile, follow the regulations and guidelines in their practice.
Practicing membership fee 2026: € 550,- (annual).
If you need your most recent diploma for admission recently obtained and become a practicing member, you are eligible for starter discount (PLSK). The discount for the first membership year is 50%, and for the second membership year, it is 25%. From the third year onward, you pay the full membership fee.
If you are a member of another professional organization and switch to the NVA, you do not have to pay double membership fees in the current year; instead, you pay € 60,- administration costs.
Affiliate Membership
If you are unable to practice due to circumstances, you can temporarily register as an affiliate member.
Affiliate Membership fee 2026: € 238,- (annual)
Terminating membership early?
Membership runs per calendar year and therefore cannot be terminated prematurely. However, it is possible to switch between different memberships within the current year.
